Is fasting required before Ultrasound?

• For abdominal ultrasound, fast for 3-4 hours so the stomach and intestines are clear for better images.

• For pelvic or KUB ultrasound, drink plenty of water and keep your bladder full (urine pressure).

• For other scans like thyroid, breast, or soft tissue ultrasound, no fasting is needed.
